Contained within four lushly gardened acres, Hotel Playa Cielo offers travelers a wonderful way to connect with the Nicoya Peninsula. The hotel's close proximity to the beach, ocean and mountains means that outdoor excursions are easy to arrange. The casitas were built with sustainable materials, including local acacia, teak and cedar wood, and the hotel works hard to minimize its effects on the immediate environment.
The casitas are ideal for couples or small groups. They are fully contained and come stocked with amenities that make traveling, relaxing and cooking easy. Each has a private hot water bathroom with a raised stone sink and open-roofed shower area. A spacious central room includes a four-post king size bed, kitchenette, and sofa bed. Opposite the bed is a wall-mounted cable TV where guests can watch their favorite shows or sports, and each casita comes equipped with wireless internet access. Guests can cook small meals at the kitchenette, which has a mini fridge, stove and coffee maker. An air conditioning unit and ceiling fan keep the whole place cool, and large windows let in a good amount of natural light. The sofa bed is set beneath one such window and provides guests with a wonderful place to read, relax or sleep.
The casitas are spaced out evenly and are just a short walk from the hotel's saltwater swimming pool. The pool has a shallow section for children and is remarkably close to the beach. A deck, set with chairs and shade umbrellas, wraps around portions of the pool and offers up a great spot to sunbathe. There is a 24-hour front desk and daily housekeeping. A fresh fruit breakfast is served every morning, and the hotel is just a short walk from the shops and restaurants of Santa Teresa.
