Each of the five villas is decorated with bright tropical colors – primarily blues and oranges – and elegant hardwood features. The villas are composed of one spacious circular building, which has high ceilings, large windows and tile floors. A king size canopy bed, equipped with a comfortable orthopedic mattress, lies opposite an indoor sitting area. Hot showers can be enjoyed from the open-air bathroom, which is decorated with colorful mosaics and tropical plants. Air conditioning keeps the whole place cool, while a safe deposit box ensures that guests’ valuables remain secure. Even better, each villa has a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.
Days at Vista de Olas begin with breakfast at the hotel’s open-air restaurant. Sip on local coffee or fresh squeezed orange juice as you plan out your daily adventures. Returning in the evening, you can order from the restaurant’s extensive menu, which features some of the best barbeque in Malpaís—there are t-bone steaks, filet mignon, ribs, bratwurst and more. Help yourself at the salad bar then settle down at a candle-lit table beneath the stars. The restaurant also has a sizeable selection of drinks, including wine, liquors, beer, juice and soda.
Guests can sign up for private or group sessions of yoga and Pilates. The classes are offered daily and are held in the hotel’s open-air studio. Afterwards, walk to the swimming pool and cool off. This infinity-edged pool overlooks the ocean and has a small waterfall feeding into it. When further indulgence is in order, visit the on-site spa. A variety of services are available, including deep tissue, Thai and Reiki massages, honey-lime facials, sea salt exfoliations, and volcanic clay wraps.
