Where it is
The hotel is up a steep hill above central Santa Teresa, about 100 m north and 100 m east of the Super Ronny supermarket. Playa Carmen, the area’s main surf beach, is about a 10-minute walk away. Going down is easy; save some energy for the climb back.
What the rooms are like
All eight rooms face the ocean. Each has air conditioning, a private hot-water bathroom, a mini fridge and hammocks out front, so you can swing and watch the coastline of Malpaís.
Food, pool and downtime
The on-site restaurant, Brukas, serves breakfast and dinner. When the sun is out, cool off in the pool or read in the sitting area, and time dinner for the sunset.

Getting here
Santa Teresa is at the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, a long way from either international airport.
